Anime-Manga Art Contest


Are you drawn into manga and anime? Do you spend your free time with a pen and paper? Show us what you can do?

Liliha Public Library is once again accepting original artwork in the second annual Anime-Manga Art Contest. Young adults in grades 6-12 are invited to submit artwork done in anime style.

The grand prize winner will get a Manga-Comic Pro Sketching & Inking set, a red pen case, and a Canson Comic & Manga Artist Trading Cards generously donated by Sakura of America, as well as the Manga Studio Debut 4 software donated by Smith Micro Software, Inc, a Bamboo Pen donated by Wacom Technology Corporation, a set of Copic markers, and other prizes.

First place winners will receive prizes that include a Pigma Sensei kit, red pen case, and a Canson Comic & Manga Artist Trading Cards, while second place winners will receive prizes that include a red pen case with a Micron pen courtesy of Sakura of America.

Winners will have their art displayed at Liliha Public Library in July.

First 100 entrants will receive a free Manga instructional booklet compliments of Sakura of America. The contest will run at Liliha Public Library from May 15 – July 15, 2011. Winners will be announced in July 2011.

Rules for the Contest
• *Entrants must be in grades 6 through 12.
• Immediate family members of HSPLS staff are not eligible
• Entries must relate to anime, manga, or video games. Fan art of characters is ok, as well as submissions of your own original characters.
• Ten (10) entries allowed per person.
• Entries must be suitable for all ages. Depictions of strong violence, nudity, drug/alcohol use, smoking, etc, will not be accepted as an entry for judging.
• Submissions may be hand-drawn or digital art, but must be submitted on a white, unlined 8 ½” x 11” paper.
• Entries must have the following information: Name, address, phone, email address (if available), grade and title of the art on EACH artwork submitted.
• Artwork must be original. “Tracings” of other works are not acceptable.
• Digital media must be printed out.
• By submitting artwork to the contest, entrants agree that Liliha Public Library has the role right to reproduce the winning entry in any way it sees fit to promote Liliha Public Library.
• All submitted art work will be available for pick up at Liliha Public Library, August 2011 and must be picked up by October 1st if the artist would like it back. No attempts will be made to remind the artist to pick up their work.
• Entries must be received by July 15, 2011.
Late entries will not be accepted.
