2011 Anime/Manga Art Contest Winners
The scanned images do not do these winning pieces justice. We have nine winners. The artwork was divided into color and black and white categories in two different age groups; one group involved the young adults in grades 6-8, and an older group of participants in grades 9-12. So there were 4 first place winners, 4 second place winners, and an overall grand prize winner.
Grand Prize Winner
Caytlin Yoshioka
Title: Victorian Dream
"Gorgeous line work mixed with very delicate color. Nicely balanced between the beautiful and the monster."
"The intricate line work and coloring on this piece is amazing. It really makes it stand out the longer you look at it."

And the winners are . . . .
It was a long and arduous task, but the judges have made their decisions. The winners of the 2011 Anime/Manga Art Contest have been notified. (If you haven't been called or emailed yet, then you're not a winner. Don't despair--the same contest will probably be offered next summer. You'll have another chance to win some great prizes!) If you want to see the winners and some the loot, you are all invited to a brief awards ceremony this Sat., Aug. 6th at Liliha Library. Our judges, Jason Yadao and Audra Ann Furuichi, will be on hand to help award the prizes. Also attending is Roy Bann, senior administrator of Kawaii Kon. And yes, that means prizes from Kawaii Kon.
I'll posting the winning entries online and at Liliha Public Library. Check back on August 6th to see the awesome artwork.

New DEADLINE for Anime/Manga Art Contest
I've just realized that Liliha Public Library will be closed on July 15, so the new deadline for submissions is Saturday, July 16. I'm sorry for the confusion but consider it a gift of an extra day:)
